CBD Bath Bomb – What Are The Benefits?

The benefits of a CBD bomb are quite simple. Whilst a normal bath and a normal bath bomb are very relaxing, you can potentially relax even further thanks to the Anti-inflammatory properties that the CBD oil can provide. CBD is the latest craze and it is turning up everywhere including bath time.

CBD Bath Bomb Benefits

In the first instance CBD promotes relaxation in the muscles and thus promotes overall relaxation. Perfect for a stress releiving soak in the bath after a tough day at work, or active weekend.

Some reports suggest CBD can also counteract acne, and there is certainly some help with skin disorders such as eczema and psoriasis through the anti-inflammatory effect.

Whilst I have also seen reports of smoothing out wrinkles in the skin, I’m not about to jump on CBD being an anti-aging agent. We all are getting older, wrinkles are part and parcel and demonstrate your age deal with it. Embrace your youthful inner self, don’t worry about the exterior. You’re as old as you feel!

Reducing inflammation and relieving aches and pains, and thus far there are no noticeable negative side effects from this cannabinoid.

Whilst there a huge number of claims of the benefits of CBD the vast majority of them are anecdotal. There is very little long term evidence as yet and is something we will just have to wait for.

How does CBD work in a Bath Bomb?

When you take a soak in a warm bath the pores of your skin open up, and this is where you feel the effects and benefit from the CBD in your products.

Because CBD mixes so well with Epsom Salts, another fabulous product you should always look for in bath bombs, it can be easily used to produce CBD bath bombs.

The Epsom salts remove toxins and help improve circulation. In turn this helps the CBD take effect even quicker.

As with any bath bomb, drop the lights, light a candle and maybe your favourite soothing music or meditation tracks for complete spa-like chill out.

The CBD will enhance your relaxation, but don’t worry, the effects are not like cannabis. The chemical at work here is not the same as you would find in the restricted cannabis drug products.

What is CBD

Without going into something that could be an article within itself, CBD is simply a by product of the cannabis plant. It is what is known as a cannbidiol. It is natural and a chemical compound which is being used in all manner of health and occupational products in recent years.

CBD is pretty hot property right now, but is not THC. Tetrahydrocannabidiol is the psychoactive chemical found in Cannabis used for recreational drug purposes and has restrictive laws again it in many places

Do you get ‘High’ with a CBD Bath Bomb?

In a word. No! – As above there is no THC in CBD products, thus the psychoactive ingredient is not present and will not give you the high you the ‘high’ effect that the THC would.

It will however help you relax to a point where stress relief effects are more pronounced and if you want, meditation steps become easier.

That said, there are a small percentage of people who say they have an altered state when using CBD, whilst not as pronounced as THC. It is quite possible that they are very receptive to the relaxation properties and thus feel more relaxed than they have ever done using any other method.

  • CBD is legal in all 50 states of the US. Cannabis is not
  • CBD is now legal in Canada along with cannabis
  • CBD is legal in the UK, but Cannabis is not

How do you get CBD in Bath Bombs?

If you make your own bath bombs and are interested in making DIY CBD bath bombs to test varying levels of CBD and the relaxation effects, please see the CBD bath Bomb Recipe below.

Otherwise, there are a wide range of CBD Bath Bombs on the market and the list is growing bigger every day.

  • 2 oz citric acid
  • 2 oz corn starch
  • 2 oz Epsom salt
  • 1 tsp water
  • 5-10 drops of essential oil of your choice
  • 1 tsp coconut oil

How Long Does CBD Stay in your System?

There is no short answer to this question but you will feel the effects with 5-25 minutes of using, and the effects can last up to four hours. The general rule of thumb is that CBD will stay in your system no longer than 1 week. 10 days would be probably enough to be 99% sure even on high dosing.

There have been some cases where THC drug tests within a week have been failed due to CBD usage, and this is because there will be trace elements of THC in CBD. It’s pretty much impossible to negate all THC even if only creating CBD.

You may have some concerns about drug testing if you have used CBD products. Whilst these tests are looking specifically for THC, there is no saying that they will not pick up and test for CBD at some point in the future.

How does CBD Make You Feel?

When used in a CBD bath Bomb you are taking the CBD in an external dose form, so this would be a different effect to taking internally in food or tablet form.

So concentrating on CBD in your bath bomb and through your skin, the effects you can expect from CBD are a feeling of relaxation, balance and relief of anxiety in the most part. It can also reduce inflammation, so in terms of it’s ‘feel’ can provide relief casued through inflammation.

How Long is CBD detectable in urine?

As we have seen above CBD should completely leave your system within 7-10 days, however, there are, as yet, no studies providing results in how long it will be still detectable in urine. If you have any doubts, or are concerned about CBD being picked up in your urine, for whatever reason, I suggest not using CBD in any form.
